those r some beast....im the only one that evers shoots at them in my boat and i can count how many i have got on one hand.

wish i could find some that size

Man 200 plus shad....You guys are sure shots....either that are the cooler water up north makes the shad slower than the ones in Texas. LOL....Good shooting!!!
For the most part these move like lightning. When you get in a school they'll make you dizzy trying to pick one to shoot at.I just sling a lot of arrows and don't sweat the misses.Sticknmo is a little more selective and usually when he points at one it dies.He don't sling near as many arrows but we usually land about the same amount.
Pretty sure Jc, Keith, and Marty shot over 450 shad at a tournament last year, hopefully one of them will chime in..I think it may have been closer to 540..
I think it was 540.I read JC saying something about that the other day. There are several Arkies that shoot crazy amounts of them too and I would say that has a lot to do with shad caps at tourneys. The guys I got my boat from was telling me they shot +/- 600 fish in a shoot one night and 350 were shad and most of the rest were dink gar if I remember right.

That's a lot of good shooting, I think I've hit maybe 5-6 in one night, I get tired of missing

Its obvious you have been fishing longer than I, but wouldnt you have to agree that it takes more skill to hit a 5 inch shad swimming 25mph than a 7 foot aligator gar "dry backing" in one of your private oxbows..FYI I have pulled lots of river aligator gar over the side of the boat
LOL! you would think that statement is accurate, however I had a client miss a gar last year 10ft from the boat, broad side , with her back out of the water "dry backing". This was the largest gar i have ever personally seen or seen pics of. the guy is a great shot too!
I agree that shad are harder to hit. I was just taking exception to which I would PREFER! LOL!

Its funny how you can have an "unnamed" shad shooter on the boat and get a monster alongside and he misses FIVE times at follow up shots! LOL

Sounds like Hoopty

id pass up shooting at carp all night if i could shoot at shad all night. :] Ask anyone who has shot with me, I absolutely hate big fish, I would shoot at shad ALL night if they would let me. :]

Marty and I killed 300 or so If i remember correctly in a few hours on a lake down south, he'd done chimed in but they are all in Lafitte LA this weekend,

You are right, it was 542. I knew it was a lot but couldn't remember the exact number. Looked back in the most fish shot in one night thread and found the exact number.

Shadstalker, we need to hook up!!!! I got a spot that sounds like what you are looking for.....

Chit, the shad are so thick at the loc right now that you cant miss. just shoot into the mass and have three on an arrow. I threw a cast net in em and had to get dpown in the bottom of the boat and roll it back in with both hands. Probably had 250lbs of shad!

I can honestly say Taylor loves his shad, you have to drag him away from a school of shad 'Kicking and Screaming' if you want to shoot carp/buffs/gar etc.
